About Chanceria
A school management system for UK independent schools, built on one stubborn idea: a pupil’s record should start with their family’s first email, and nobody should ever type it in twice.
Why we built it
We started with admissions software. Schools kept asking the same question: once a family accepts a place, why does someone have to type them into another system? Admissions and the rest of school life had been built as separate products, and schools were left to fill the gap.
So we built the rest of the school year on the same record — pupils and classes, registers, marks and reports, safeguarding, SEND, timetables, fees and the parent portal.
How we approached AI
We set ourselves one test: would a safeguarding lead sign this off after reading exactly how it works? So the AI answers from a set list of questions, can’t change anything on its own, can’t open safeguarding records at all, and keeps full medical and SEND detail to senior staff.
It does mean the AI will sometimes say no. With information this sensitive, we think that’s the right trade. The whole picture is on our AI page.
What we believe
Admissions belongs in the school system
A pupil who joins in September was an enquiry the October before. Keeping them in two systems is why schools retype families every year.
Safety should be built in
Keeping schools’ data apart shouldn’t depend only on software remembering to check. Ours is also enforced by the database itself.
AI needs firm limits
Asking an AI nicely to stay away from safeguarding records isn’t enough. Ours simply can’t open them.
Your data is yours
You can export everything, whenever you like. If you ever want to leave, we’ll help rather than hold you back.
Who it’s for
UK independent schools — prep and senior, day and boarding — and groups that run several schools. Each school’s data is kept separate, even within a group. Chanceria is not a directory or a marketplace, and never publishes anything about your pupils, staff or families.
